چکیده

This study aimed at assessing the growth and mortality parameters of Prionace gluaca Sphyrna lewini shark species from coast Ghana. Data was taken for nine (9) months April 2021 to December 2021. The length data analyzed estimation population using FiSAT II tool. From results, estimated asymptotic (L∞) rate (K) P. glauca S. were 396.4 cm 0.27 yr–1 349.1 0.24 respectively, indicating that these exhibited slow growing characteristics, evinced by a longevity approximately 11 – 12 years. first capture (Lc50) 128.6 169.0 cm. maturity (Lm50) 179.74 160.4 respectively. By comparing Lc50 Lm50, it implies individuals vulnerable fishing gears before having chance mature even spawn once. total (Z), natural (M), (F) exploitation rates 0.82 , 0.22 0.60 0.73 0.76 yr–1, 0.21 0.55 0.72, suggests activities are main cause decline in abundance species. (E > 0.5) revealed overexploited Ghana’s marine waters. Based on findings, is recommended effort be reduced through appropriate measures relevant authorities.

The Population dynamics of mud crab (Scylla serrata) in coast of Bandar Khamir (Hormozgan Province)

The Sampling one-year period from October 92 to October 93 on a monthly basis was conducted using gillnets and baited traps. 70% of gillnet catches during flood tide consisted of adults. Sub-adults and juveniles were 28 % and 4.5%, respectively. Similarly, during ebb tide consisted of 51.7%, 24.2%, and 24.1%, respectively. It suggests that gillnets are not sized selective gear. In contrast, bai...
